FlashJava Project

CS134 Spring 2002

[June 13, 2006: This seems broken, and needs to be fixed.]

For my CS134 course, at the University of Waterloo, we were required to create a discrete event simulator. An extension of this project was to animate actions taking place with in the simulator. The following is what I created for the extension.

Being slighly familiar with the animation involved with Macromedia Flash, I decided to use it to create the project. The below Flash Movie is able to interact with the Java code created for the project (with some extra manipulations), as well as Flash script, embedded in the movie, and the Javascript located on this page. In other words, the Java classes are able to relay information to and from the web page, which in turn relays it to the Flash film.

Your browser is completely ignoring the <APPLET> tag!

Note: It is recommended to not use stop values of greater than 100, as it does still take a while for them to process.

Next Step: Further animating (on my own time) back ground, and fore ground additional animations for interests sake.

Feel free to browse the source files.
